*Edward had set out shortly after sunset, to do just what Alfons had insisted he don't do- worry about her condition and find the vampire that bit her. The homunculus hadn't formed a game plan for what to do just yet, but he was much more worried with coming face to face with the creature - he'd handle the rest once he got there.*

Sitting. *He replied, watching her for a moment before continuing* What does it look like I'm doing? *After another pause - gaze focused on anyone passing by instead of the girl beside him - Edward turned back to face her once more* Why did you call me that?

*He smiled slowly at that response, it being the first time anyone had apologized for it.* You know that I'm not. *He repeated, looking for all the world like a kid plucking the wings off a fly - smile still in place.*

Well...not exactly. I mean I know where my real brother is, so they couldn't pretend...I've gotten a few people acting...'familiar', but it's not too bad!

*He really was still caught up on the first sentence. Alphonse had never said that, in the entire time they'd lived together. Roy had, Roy spoke volumes about the differences between him and the human he should have been.. Al always insisted that they were one and the same. Edward watched her silently for a moment before exhaling*

Yeah, of course! He even bandaged up my neck, and everything. *raises a hand to the side of her neck, where (though the bandages had been removed, by now) there was still a faint mark*

*he was watching people as they walked by, set on his goal regardless of how impossible it seemed. He glanced up at everyone that walked by, took in their appearance and tried to rationalize how he could tell one from another - when this Ed walked by. The homunculus cocked his head to the side and regarded him curiously before murmuring* You're not human, are you? *No, he wasn't even sure how he'd come to that conclusion... Only that this Ed didn't give him the same feelings the others walking around did. It actually reminded him of something else, all together.*

*It took the question being asked for him to realize the truth of the matter. Protective as he was, Edward knew that he wasn't the human Al had wanted him to be, he just wanted to understand more than anything.* He bit someone that I know, and I want to find out why.
