FMA DRESSING ROOM - THE LJ YEARS

--Roy is sitting outside on a bench in a park, not too far away from the flower shop. He's bought himself some real male clothes now. The atmosphere of the park and the new MALE clothes are very welcome as he sits and writes in his time traveler's note book, talking to himself as he does so-

...while this place is full of many different people from many different dimensions, each of their universes have one thing in common; people and faces. Everyone here recognizes at least one person as someone from their world. Thus, we can assume each world is never entirely different from the others; the differences only come from moments in time or evolutionary paths.

Alternate reality theory states that each dimension originally started the same, but branched out and developed to what they are now due to events. For worlds with different species, evolution was the prime factor in this. Due to the way these species evolved, society and even the appearance of the world itself as it developed differed greatly from other dimensions. This is an early trigger. The worlds with magic are also a result of evolutionary triggers, albeit ones that most likely occurred later and only in the human race. The ability to use magic must have come from evolution. How evolution might have played a part though, could differ from dimension to dimension.

Other worlds though had smaller triggers that affected the way they are. Many here come from a world where alchemy is the dominating science, while physics is the dead one. -he furrows his brow- Like wise, it is opposite in worlds like mine. The cause of this branch in direction must be a successful creation of the Philosopher's Stone, likely by either Nicholas Flamel or Paracelsus Theocratus Hohenheim. This hypothesis is based on the Flamel symbols I've seen around here. The presence of the Flamel indicates that Nicholas Flamel is a prominent figure in this world's history, akin to perhaps Einstein. Since a Nicholas Flamel existed in this world, it's quite possible alchemy progressed the same way it did in others, for the most part at least. In my world the stone was never created and thus alchemy was abandoned, therefore it is not illogical to believe that the successful creation of the stone is what secured alchemy as a reliable science in this world. -hey, was that a cringe just now?- The successful creation of homunculi is another possible trigger, although this could just be a result of the stone's creation.

It is a shame however that they have abandoned physics. By abandoning such a beautiful science, they will never be able to use time travel like my people have.

Then there are miniscule changes. A single person's actions that don't affect the world on a grand scale, but do affect the lives of a handful of people. A younger brother losing his arm instead of his older...things like that.

Lastly, there are changes caused by time travelers like myself. I am unaware of any worlds represented here that have been affected by us yet though.

All of this amounts to interesting variations of people with interesting stories to tell. I wish to learn about as many of these worlds as I can, since my mission to observe Edward Elric has been interrupted.

...Speaking of Edward.

This place where universes converge is frighteningly reminiscent of his "closed spaces". Sleeping was hard on my first few nights, as I feared a Shinjin appearing. I believe full heartedly this place is his handiwork, although I have yet to see him here myself. Could he just be preparing this new universe full of alters to move into himself later? Or perhaps I angered him enough that he'd want to send to me a place full of Edwards...Ed-Hell...

-he fingers a red jewel around his neck- Mmm...I shall observe this place just as I would him. The interest a place where universes converge would be great to my organization.

...I am so getting promoted for this.

-addressing everyone in the house while dressed in slytherinfuhrer's clothing and being as proper as he can, as if he were addressing one of his superior time travelers back home-

Ah. I cannot help but feel that if I am to be living with you for the forseeable future, at the very least I owe you all an introduction.

So let's see. I am yet another Roy Mustang; that much should be apparent. I'm a Time Traveler with the rank of Thoth... and I have been assigned to observe the Edward Elric from my world, though unfortunately, the brief for this mission stipulated I pose as a second-year high school student despite having graduated some time ago. My real age, I'm afraid, is classified information, so if you would all please just assume I'm seventeen I would be entirely grateful. It would probably make things a lot easier.

...I'm also the unwilling mascot of the S.O.S. Brigade- but let's not talk about that.

I must thank you sincerely for allowing me to stay here. I can assure you that I will not be a bother and will, of course, help out as much as I can. It is nice to meet you all. -polite bow the place he's from uses some Japanese customs, shut up-
