*he's sitting outside trying to read a book wizard!Roy gave him. Next to him is a stack of more books. He's having a difficult time because he's still not that good at reading English yet but the pictures in the book are enough to turn his face red.

What exactly is he trying to accomplish by reading these?

To understand how humans mate better.

That's right folks; Wizard!Roy gave him graphic human biology texts and PORN. And he is as red as a tomato as result and has no idea this is not something to be reading in public*

*lowers himself gracefully onto the grass beside Maes, looking over his shoulder with mild interest. Perhaps it is due to the vast rift in period and culture between this Roy and every other citizen, but when he realises what Maes is reading, he isn't offended or flustered.

Faint amusement tinged with curiousity colours his features as he turns to look at Maes himself, brushing a heated cheek lightly with his index finger.*

...when he DID realize his prince was there though, he dropped the book like a hot potato and recoiled, startled. Was his face getting hotter? Why yes. Yes it was.*
